We are giving full day workshops consisting of two ½ day sessions on the following:
- Alpaca Selection and Fiber
- Making the Fiber of the Future
- Basic Alpaca Herd Health
- Fundamentals of New Cria Care
- Cash Flow Management for Alpaca Breeders
They are designed to give alpaca breeders at whatever level the chance to class alpacas and their fiber; undersatnd the benefits of estimated progeny differences (EPDs); Basic herd helth including new cria care and principals of cash flow management. This is invaluable for new people who have had not had their hands on enough alpacas to know what represents value in a purchase and it also applies to existing breeders who need to broaden their experience.
Based on techniques we learned form Jude Andersen, an internationally recognized alpaca judge and qualified Wool Classer, someone who regularly judges the best alpacas in the US and Australia.
The workshops include lunch and plenty of time to have individual supervision.
We are keeping the participants to a small manageable number so everyone can get the benefits of this time.
The workshop will include some power point presentation but mostly hands on evaluation.
The beauty of the workshop is we will match the content to the level of experience of the participants.
For a more complete alpaca educational experience you should attend our “planning For Profit in the Alpaca Industry” seminar which so far has been a roaring success.
If the workshop times do not suit, we can arrange an individual mid-week or weekend seminar by appointment. You will need a minimum of six participants and there will be an extra $100 charge for the group.
Cost $50 per person, min. four people, max. ten! |
