Snowmass Intrepid

Here is a chance to get access to a herdsire that has been used in the Snowmass program. Intrepid represents excellence in black. How hard is it to find the density and fineness of whites in a black herdsire who's pedigree is built on prepotence of the genetics that we revere in alpaca fiber.

Julie and Don at Snowmass Alpacas are the architects of this boys magnificent pedigree. They took the fineness from the succession of a number of Chilean ancestors and mixed it with the dominance of white fiber quality via Peruvian Bueno and Peruvian Legacy blended with the superior colored finess and density from Peruvian Drambuie.

The mother Snowmass Legacy's Ruby is a solid performer in her own right having a thread of quality cria, but the sire here for Snowmass Intrepid....well, it doesn't get much better. Snowmass Nova has a veritable legacy of show winning cria all over the country. The fact that someone paid $335,000 to secure ownership of him speaks volumes of how he is seen in the alpaca market place.

Intrepid is a masterpiece. There is hardly a visitor who doesn't comment on arrival...." who is that black boy who owns the paddock?".......Snowmass Intrepid whilst having the manners of a gentleman doesn't take any nonsense and commits himself to royalty in the pasture prancing around alert and proud like any stud should. You will not be dissappointed opening his fleece either. You'll find a dense well oragnised fiber, a broad high amplitude crimp with sheen and slippery handle. He is covered head to foot on a stoutly built frame of big bone and excellent proportion. He's a good sized lad as well, you'll find him a little taller than the normal Nova sons who who tend to a smaller frame.

So here you have a great looking boy with persistent fineness from year to year from a royal pedigree and the judges agreed!!

Snowmass Intrepid is campaigned on behalf of Robert Merther and Virginia Covey of Stansbury Mountain Farm, LLC in Utah.
